Growing up

As a kid

We pretty much have our life’s given to us in the palm of our very own hands.

The grown ups tell us what to do and what not to do

What to wear and how to dress

What school we need to attend and what behavior we should possess

But as the days start to process into weeks

The weeks into months

The months into years.

Their parenting grip loses its touches as we develop into who we are meant to be.

Its funny actually, because just like stairs we walk our way to our destination as we intentionally get stepped on, used, and or left or rained on.

Rarely a helping hand lended; only the depths of our own support.

Maybe that's why a wise person once said ‘life is like a staircase, you have to go up each stair to reach the top’

Failing to tell you was that once you reach the top of it all. That’s when the real challenge begins.
